Short-Term Counselling
What is Short-Term Counselling?
Short-Term Counselling is a focused, time-limited approach designed to help you address specific issues, gain clarity, and make positive changes in a relatively brief period.
Whether you choose to attend sessions in-person in London or join remotely via online video call, my aim is to support you in navigating life’s challenges with practical tools and compassionate guidance.

How Does Short-Term Counselling Work?
Each session is tailored to your unique concerns. We begin by identifying the main issues you wish to address, whether that’s managing stress, improving relationships, coping with grief, or making a significant life decision. My approach is collaborative. I listen actively, offer insights, and work with you to develop realistic strategies for change. The focus will remain on what matters most to you, ensuring that our time together is both purposeful and effective.
I draw on a range of therapeutic models, including solution-focused and person-centred techniques, to help you gain practical insights and achieve your goals within a defined timeframe.
Sessions typically last 50 minutes and are offered at the same day and time every week. However, with notice we can change our scheduled day and time. Short-Term Counselling generally runs for between six and twelve sessions, or we can agree a specific number of sessions in advance.

What Issues Can Short-Term Counselling Help With?
Anxiety and stress
Low mood and mild to moderate depression
Relationship challenges (including communication difficulties, breakups, or family conflict)
Work-related concerns (such as burnout or transitions)
Building self-esteem and confidence
Bereavement and major life changes
Making important life decisions
If you are experiencing more complex or long-standing issues, such as unresolved trauma, chronic illness, or deeply rooted behaviours, I may recommend a more extended therapeutic approach. However, many clients find that short-term work is enough to gain new perspective and move forward with greater ease.

What Can You Expect from a Session?
Our sessions will be a safe space where you can speak openly and explore your concerns without judgement. Together, we’ll develop action plans and coping strategies that you can apply immediately in your day-to-day life. My approach is warm, direct, and supportive, ensuring you feel heard and empowered throughout the process.
I welcome clients of all backgrounds and am happy to answer any questions you may have about the process or how it fits with your current circumstances. To learn more or book an initial consultation, please get in touch.

Is Short-Term Counselling Right for You?
If you’re looking for a practical, results-oriented approach to therapy, whether for a specific issue or simply to gain a fresh perspective. Short-Term Counselling could be ideal. You don’t need to have a mental health diagnosis or be in crisis to benefit; many people find value in dedicated time to reflect, regroup, and move forward.
